Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 21, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what information CalMealAI collects, how we use and share it, and the choices you have. It applies to all users of the CalMealAI app.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly: account details (name, email, and — if you sign in with Google — your Google account name, email address, and profile photo), meal photos and food logs, body measurements, weight and exercise logs, water intake, dietary preferences, and, only if you choose to add them, food allergies and health conditions (used to personalise meal ideas and food guidance; you can change or clear them at any time). Health details are sensitive, so we use them only for that purpose. We also collect any messages you send through Contact Us or My Incidents. We also collect basic usage and device information (such as app activity and error logs) to keep the service running reliably.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to operate and improve CalMealAI: analyzing meal photos and text to estimate calories and macros, tracking your progress over time, managing your account and subscription, processing payments, responding to support requests, and sending service-related notifications (such as reminders or billing confirmations). We do not use your Google account data or any other personal data for any purpose beyond providing and improving these features.

3. What We Never Do With Your Data

We do not sell your personal data. We do not use Google user data — or any data you provide — to serve targeted or personalized advertising, to train or improve generalized AI or machine learning models, or to determine your creditworthiness or eligibility for lending. Data is used solely to provide and improve the CalMealAI features you use.

4. How We Share Information

We share information only where necessary to run the service: with our cloud hosting and database provider (to store your account and logs), with AI providers used to analyze meal photos and generate estimates, meal ideas, pictures and food guidance (they receive only what is needed for that request, such as your BMI, goal, allergies and health conditions when you ask for personalised guidance), and with our payment processors, Cashfree (India) and Paddle (elsewhere), to process purchases. Your full card details are entered with and held by the processor and never reach or get stored on our servers; we keep only a record of each payment — the amount, currency, date, and, for card payments, the card type and last four digits — so we can show your payment history and handle refunds. These providers are only permitted to use your data to perform services on our behalf. We do not share your data with third parties for their own marketing purposes, and we may disclose information if required by law.

5. Data Security

We use industry-standard safeguards to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) between your device and our servers and access controls that limit who can view your data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information using commercially reasonable measures.

6. Data Retention & Deletion

We retain your account and log data for as long as your account is active, so you can view your history and progress over time. You can delete your data yourself from Profile → Delete Account: that removes your profile details, food, water, fasting, exercise, pill and weight logs, recipes, saved foods, reminders and support messages, and disconnects Google Sheets. Because sign-in is handled by our authentication provider, our team then removes your sign-in account and any uploaded meal photos after being notified automatically, and emails you when that is done. We keep only what we must: payment records (for tax and accounting) and a minimal plan, calCredits and free-trial-used record so the free trial cannot be claimed again. You can also ask us to delete your account via the Contact Us page or My Incidents, and we will do so within a reasonable timeframe.

7. Your Choices & Rights

You can review and update most of your information from the Profile page at any time. You may request a copy of your data or ask us to delete your account by contacting support. If you signed up using Google Sign-In, you can also revoke CalMealAI's access from your Google Account permissions at any time.

8. Cookies & Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how CalMealAI is used (for example which screens are visited and what kind of device is used). It only runs if you press Accept on the cookie banner: if you decline, or don't answer, no analytics script is loaded and no analytics cookies are set. You can change your choice at any time with "Cookie settings" in the page footer. We don't use analytics data for advertising.

9. Children's Privacy

CalMealAI is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as our app or practices change. We will update the "Last updated" date below when we do, and continued use of CalMealAI after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
